With the DVD coming out in about 90 minutes, I say we rekindle what created are friendship in the first place. All of our friendships. It was two different movies. A slapstick/satire about the thought process of canines and the incompetence of the boy scouts of America, and a romance picture about mourning the----wait, it was all one movie? OMG! THIS MOVIE HAS EVERYTHING! WOOOOOOOO! Up and Little Shop of Horrors [with the original ending] are beating on each other for my favorite movie position.

Anyways...Muntz apparanty had trouble catching THE MONSTER OF PARADISE FALLS. "I tried to smoke it out. But once you go in, you can't come back. I've lost so many dogs."

Is it the fog? Was the fog itself created by Muntz, as evidence by the "smoking it out" remark? YOU BE THE JUDGE!

I think it was natural fog, but it's very open to discussion.

There... there was a fog? I just thought that Kevin was a murdering machine or something and killed anything got near it's babies. Or the babies were doing the killing.
I... I feel somewhat weird for fully believing that now.

lol

KEVIN'S DARK SIDE!

That would somewhat make sense, considering how Kevin almost hurt Carl. But then she wouldn't be nearly as cute.

Kevin's species clearly has a symbiotic relationship with a carnivorous species of plant that roams the labyrinth.

I think Kevin would've protected her babies at all costs.

Or, you know, sheer cliffs. She could get through, the dogs couldn't.

He emphasized the idea that Kevin's home was like a labyrinth. Obviously the dogs wandered in, only to become lost and never find their way back out. That's all, no maniacal killer birds.

Oh. I didn't see any mention of that in the movie. I must rewatch. Also...if that's the case, how did Carl and Russell get out?

Yeah, I believe they only escorted Kevin to the entrance.

But there's still the mystery how her kids got there when it's supposed to be a labyrinth...

Is there nothing he cannot do?!

The truth is that Muntz is blind, and uses his ears to see. Because of this he cannot see in front of him, and cannot shoot his gun properly most of the time. Inside the labyrinth, there are strong winds that make it hard to hear. Therefore, his ear eyes don't function in there. That's why he sends out the dogs instead of going himself. The dogs, however, are obviously stupid. The only skilled ones are Alpha, Beta, and Gamma, and Muntz doesn't wanna lose them so he doesn't let them search for the bird in the labyrinth, only the stupid dogs can go and they're stupid so they can't get the bird. Yes, I know that was extremely confusing

If that wasn't a joke, it's obvious Muntz can see. He knew Carl had a floating house, for example...and looked right at it.

I'm with a combination of the labyrinth and over-protective mom theory. If backed into a corner, I could see Kevin unleashing the fury on any dogs cocky enough to get close. She's quite a large bird...and I'm sure that beak could do some serious damage if she was provoked.

Not to mention her legs. Birds like emus, ostriches, and cassowary will kick anything for self-defence. So I guess Kevin would, too.

Why does Muntz have trouble catching Kevin? The same reason that Wile E. Coyote has trouble catching the Roadrunner. Because both birds are too quick and smart for their pursuers to capture them!
